About Saying Goodbye is Hard
Why I created these books?
These books grew out of my firsthand experience navigating the death of my husband while helping our three children cope with the loss of their father. Every child understands and experiences grief differently. Expressions such as “we lost Grandpa,” “passed away,” or “gone to sleep” may be well-intended, but they can leave children confused about what death really means. It helps parents and caregivers explain death in honest, gentle, age-appropriate language while giving children space to ask questions, express their feelings, and remember someone they love. The books were intentionally written without religious language, allowing families to share their own beliefs in ways that are meaningful to them.
